About MOSTEC

The Marine & Offshore Science, Technology & Engineering Centre (MOSTEC) aims to address engineering challenges and needs of the marine and maritime sector by engaging in research and innovation activities.

MOSTEC’s activities cover areas such as naval architecture and vessel design, investigations and solutions related to the overall efficiency of ships and the minimisation of their environmental footprint as well as the reduction of their life cycle cost.

MOSTEC’s research interests and activities include engineering applications that are related to offshore (open-sea) fish-farming (i.e., cages, mooring lines, autonomous systems, etc.), renewable energy and hydrocarbons technologies, coastal protection and underwater structures (e.g., artificial reefs). MOSTEC is also developing expertise on high-end CFD simulation software and tools such as virtual/numerical wave tanks and thermodynamic combustion models integrated with chemical kinetics.
