Angelos Ktoris is an Associate Scientist at the Marine and Offshore Science, Technology, and Engineering Centre. He is also the legal Secretary of the organisation since its establishment back in April 2019. Angelos received his M.Sc. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. The subject of his diploma thesis was the hydrodynamic analysis of a floating wind turbine founded on a spar floating structure with conventional mooring lines. He also received a master’s in Business Economics from the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Cyprus. In his thesis, he analysed the impact of the Fit for 55 legislation package on the Cypriot economy for a case study for liquid and liquified cargo carriers.

Before joining CMMI, Angelos worked at the Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean as a researcher for more than seven years participating in European and Nationally funded projects and tenders of the blue economy. During his tenure, he managed projects and tenders with a total budget of over €2 M.

Angelos’ research interests include hull and vessel performance optimization, marine renewable energy, deep-sea aquaculture farms, and maritime surveillance. Angelos is a certified trainer of vocational training, actively participating in the organisation’s Blue Cove activities.
