Guidelines to presenters:

Oral presentations

  • Presentations should be landscape with aspect ratios 16:9 (preferred) or 4:3 in a .pptx format. It is recommended that you leave some margin around the slides for screen adaptation.
  • Ensure that your presentation is readable from the back of the room by considering the colours and fonts (i.e., not smaller than 12).
  • 10-minute oral presentation followed by 3-minutes of Q&A

Timings will be strictly kept minimizing overrun of sessions.

Poster Session

  • Posters should be printed in A1 size (594 mm x 841 mm), Portrait.
  • A poster number indicating the poster board will be allocated to you at registration.
  • Adhesive for poster mounting will be provided during registration. Please do not use any other types of adhesive to prevent damage to the poster boards.
  • Posters Sessions will be held at the CMMI House (adjacent to the conference venue – Sun Hall Hotel)
    • Posters setup: 8:30 – 9:00 (28th May, during registration)
    • Poster Session: 16:15 – 17:30 Tuesday 28th & 17:00 – 18:00 Wednesday 29th
    • Poster take-down: 17:30 – 18:00 (second day)
  • Please be present during poster sessions to discuss your work with scientists.

How to get there:

Location of the conference venues:

The republic of Cyprus has two international airports; The Larnaca International Airport (LCA – 7.5km from the venue) and the Paphos International Airport, (PFO – 125km from the venue). From there you can reach the venue via:

  • Taxi: Can be found at the exit of both airports however prices vary depending on the time of arrival. Bolt also operates in Cyprus.
  • Public transport: (please check availability based on the time of arrival as other options may apply)
    • From LCA: Take the 425 bus from the Larnaka Airport (stop – 6117) towards Dekeleia and get off at Grigori Afxentiou Avenue Finikoudes (stop – 6733). From there it is a 5 min walk to Sun Hall Hotel.
    • From PFO: Take the Kapnos airport Shuttle from PFO to LCA. Then take the 425 bus from the LCA (stop – 6117) towards Dekeleia and get off at Grigori Afxentiou Avenue Finikoudes (stop – 6733). From there it is a 5 min walk to Sun Hall Hotel.

Larnaka Guided walking tour

The guided walking tour covers the history, development and main points of interest of Larnaka throughout the town centre, main promenade and seafront square, and the quaint, historic old streets. Included in the walk are stops at some of the city’s most famous landmarks, religious monuments, and interesting buildings (some to visit, others to view from outside). Among other sights, participants will discover:

  • The cluster of protected buildings of the colonial period including the Municipal Art Gallery and Larnaka Historic Archives Museum.
  • The landmarks, buildings, and interactive monuments along the palm-tree Foinikoudes Promenade, including the medieval castle (fort), Kebir (Buyuk) Tzami Mosque and the Larnaka Storytelling Statues.
  • Valsamakis house, associated with the Cypriot attempt to join the Greek revolution of 1821
  • Cleanthi Kalogera Street down to the traditional workshops of Larnaka’s craftsmen nestled in the Art Workshops Neighbourhood (optional).
  • The most important Byzantine monument surviving in Cyprus, Saint Lazarus Church.
  • Kyriazis Medical Museum
  • The main shopping streets where the Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and several other historic buildings are found.
