Professor of European Law and Reform and Civil Society Organisation Founder with over 20 years of experience, I promote actively fundamental rights and social justice at the national/EU/CoE/UN/other IOs level and was awarded the European Parliament’s European Citizen 2020 Prize on behalf of the CSO I founded for promoting European values on the ground in Cyprus via social mediation at ICLAIM. I specialise in fundamental rights at the national/European/international level. I analyse/apply/reform European/international law principles/values/instruments on fundamental human rights in troubled societies at national/supranational level (emergency/crisis/reform of legal systems). I am a Rule of Law expert on the sustainability of rights & systemic challenges to Justice in Europe (e.g. effectiveness, independence, transparency, accountability, digitalisation); an Alternative Dispute Resolution expert (certified Mediator, Arbitrator/Trade & Sustainable Development Expert at EU level); an Artificial Intelligence and privacy expert (Data Protection Officer). I am also a Senior executive in the Higher Education sector (Head of School of Law, Chair of Research and Innovation including Sustainable Development Goals and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus), multilingual and interdisciplinary, and a public outreach legal expert including for public bodies, the EU and its agencies (global knowledge transfer, high profile appointments and externally funded research projects, consultancy, expert opinions, public consultations, evaluation work, reporting and recommendations).
