Monica Andreou graduated from the University of Panteion (Athens) and the Maastricht School of Management. She holds a degree in European Studies and International Relations and a master’s in business administration (MBA – Project Management). She has been a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI – PMP) since 2016. After completing her first degree, she did her internship, for almost one year, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. She has a working experience of more than 15 years in the coordination of various proposals and projects, from several EU and International co-funded research/ training programmes at different stages of their development, which were successfully completed.

More precisely, Ms Andreou had been working at the Institute of Local Authority in Athens as programme and contracts officer of the European Social Funds for ICT training in the regions of Greece for three years. Moreover, she participated and worked in the team, which was established at a national level to support all the operations of the Secretariat of the European Council for the Cyprus Presidency in 2012. From 2014 until September 2020, she worked as an Officer in the Department of EU Programmes and Training at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Since October 2020, Ms Andreou has been working at the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI) as a researcher in MHEC, MCHC and CM2PR2C, dealing with proposals /projects and initiatives in the Blue Economy area. She also acts as an administration officer in the Business Development Unit. She mainly deals with communication and dissemination activities of the organisation with other organisations and stakeholders at national, regional and international levels.
