Michalis Mavros is a Mechanical Engineer who gained his undergraduate and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cyprus. His Master thesis aimed on the development and testing of a robotic manipulation system for logistics applications. During his postgraduate studies, he was a member of the Research Robotics Laboratory of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering department, where he worked on the design, prototype development, testing and evaluation of robotic systems. He also participated as researcher at the University of Cyprus on a funded project, whose target was to develop a novel robotic platform to provide wheelchair users with access to buildings and public spaces.

Currently, he is an Assistant Scientist at Marine Robotics Innovation Centre of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute.
