Michael Picas is an Associate Scientist at the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute’s Digitalisation Centre. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle and a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Abertay University with a focus on virtual environments.
Previously, he worked for the EuroAsia Interconnector Project where he managed the computer and network infrastructure. He has experience with industrial automation and SCADA systems. He has designed and implemented a commercial software product that was sold worldwide at Red Earth Software. He also conducted research in the field of Computer Architecture at the University of Cyprus, improving trace cache algorithm prediction.
His field of interest is hardware design, embedded systems, and algorithm development.
