Marie Ghalanos graduated from the University of Essex and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She holds a Bachelor’s degree(BA) in European Studies & Modern Languages and a Master’s degree (MSc) in European Politics and Governance. She also holds a diploma in French University Studies, obtained under the Socrates– Erasmus exchange programme by the University of Jean Moulin Lyon 3, as well as an Italian Language Certificate (Level C1) from the University of Perugia.

She has over 15 years of working experience, mainly in the field of communications. She has worked extensively abroad, in particular at the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) in Brussels. She has also worked in Italy at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma and at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. In Cyprus she has worked at the Research & Innovation Foundation, at the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and lastly at the Embassy of Italy in Nicosia where she was in charge of the organisation of events, as well as of all visibility and communication activities of the Embassy.

She speaks Greek, English, Italian and French.
