Constantina Ioannou received her MEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK in 2020 and the following year started her PhD in the prediction and control of thermoacoustic instabilities in gas turbine engines.

She has carried out experimental work and practised with schlieren optics and fast-cam imaging techniques to capture phenomena in a clearer view to examine spray combustion. Her aim now is to produce cleaner and soot-free flames.

She joined the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute as a Full-Time Assistant Scientist in 2021 and is interested in becoming involved in decarbonisation projects through the application of combustion, heat transfer and acoustics theory.
