Alexandros Tzirkotis was born in Larnaca in 1950. In 1968 he graduated from the Pancyprian Lyceum in Larnaca and he was accepted in the Naval Academy of the Hellenic Navy. He graduated in 1972 with the rank of Ensign Engineer and he served in various warships and shore positions of the Hellenic Navy. In 1994 he resigned with the rank of Captain and he joined the Cyprus National Guard, where he served in various positions. In 2004 he retired with the rank of Rear Admiral.
Since 2004 he is working at Optimum Shipmanagement Services S.A., as its Purchasing Director.
He is married to Anna Tzirkoti and is the father of George and Alexandra.
