Following discussions for the development of the Cyprus Marine Observation Network as a Critical National Infrastructure, CMMI held in Larnaca the second edition of the ‘Cyprus Marine Observation Network Workshop’, bringing together potential stakeholders and giving them the floor to engage into some fruitful discussions and exchange of ideas on how to expand CyMON into a National Network that will include all relevant fixed and non-fixed platforms and other observatory and monitoring systems.
The latest buoy deployments were presented, as well as other data acquisition systems by CMMI, but also state-of-the-art technologies of relevant international networks.
CyMON will cover the sea areas of the Republic of Cyprus and the data being collected will become available to the wider public, including stakeholders with national responsibilities.
