Mr. Christodoulos Protopapas has been Chief Executive Officer of Hellas Sat, the first satellite operator in Greece and Cyprus since 2001.

Christodoulos has been involved in the satellite business since August 1994, when the Government of Cyprus appointed him to the Cyprus Space Committee to represent Cyprus at International Meetings and Conferences. He has participated in many professional seminars, presentations and visits regarding Satellite Business, Communications, and Informatics.

In 1985 he was appointed Head of the Computer Department of the State Scholarship Foundation of Greece. From February 1989 to November 1989, he was employed by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus as an Assistant Engineer. Between the years 1990 and 1996 he worked as a Technical Advisor to the Archbishopric of Cyprus, where he was responsible for the Design, Building and Installation of the “O Logos” Radio and TV Station. In 1995 has established “Logos Net” which was the First Internet Service Provider in Cyprus. From August 1996 till August 1999 he was appointed Director General of “O Logos” Radio and TV Channel. From October 1999 to January 2000 he was employed as a Technical Advisor to Alpha TV Group in Greece until he left to assume the role of Managing Director of Hellas Sat Consortium Ltd.

He was elected Chairman of the European Satellite Operators (ESOA) for two terms (2007 and 2010) and from April 2018 to August 2020 was the Chairman of the Hellenic Space Agency.

Christodoulos was born in 1961 in Limassol Cyprus. He graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department of the “National Technical University of Athens” with Honours (9.73/10). He is the author of several international academic publications in Intelligent Systems and he has participated in several seminars and lectures in Cyprus and abroad presenting new technologies in Communications and Information Systems. He is married to Dr. Panayiota Constantinou and has three children.
